Christine Fox, Owner, CEO, and all around Superwoman

While attending both Macomb and Oakland Community Colleges, Christine Fox knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, but wasn’t sure how. She soon found her calling pursuing her education in training dogs and their people in 1989. She is now a proud member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and has had the pleasure of meeting with many world renowned veterinarians and celebrity trainers such as Victoria Stilwell, Susanne Clothier and she is Dr. Ian Dunbar’s biggest fan.

Christine Fox TV
Christine’s You Tube channel is currently used to educate more dedicated dog lovers nationwide. She films and travels regularly with her fantastic editing team and enjoys this aspect of her career.

Christine is emotionally invested in the work she feels privileged to carry out through Wag ‘N’ Tails. She truly lives by the words of her company mission statement:

The Activity Center Location
Christine knew it was time to get her “own place” when she came home one day and realized she had thirteen crates in her kitchen along with dog toys, a sandbox, and a kiddie pool filling her back yard. She first began Wag ‘N’ Tails at a 900 square foot facility at 25 Mile Road and Mound, one mile from the current Activity Center location located at 56776 Mound Road in Shelby Township, Michigan. Wag has grown to it’s current 26 Mile location and now has over 8,000 square feet accommodating her guests with over 20 dedicated employees, both full and part time.

The Studio Location
Her second location called The Studio is where filming takes place among many other events including classes, interviews, and workshops. This additional locations can be found at 53153 Hayes Road, also in Shelby Township. This beautiful location is an education center which will soon offer grooming and training certifications to the public. Filming and content is currently in the design phase. Memberships and Community Involvement
Christine is a member of many pet related organizations including the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and Pet Sitters International. She also takes pride in her involvement with her local community frequenting charity events and fund raisers for such groups as Jack’s Place for Autism, Kid’s Kicking Cancer and Relay for Life.

Media
Her teachings have prevented aggression, treated serious behavior problems, and ensured a comfortable environment when bringing home a new puppy. She has been featured in many local publications such as the Detroit News, The Source, The Shelby/Utica News and has had the pleasure of being involved in a televised lecture for over two years on Channel 50, WKBD. Christine has also lectured at Oakland Community College for career day for children, teaching kids and pet safety. She has been featured on Channel 4, WDIV and Channel 7, ABC for several of the training services she provides at Wag ‘N’ Tails. In 2011 she had the pleasure of meeting Victoria Stilwell of Animal Planets, “It’s me or the dog” and gained even more respect for her profession. Recently she became certified in not only physical fitness for dogs but also extreme trick training with Kyra Sundance.

Animal Wrangler
In 2013 her dog Charley filmed a movie called the Golden Shoe, starring John Ryes-Davies, released in 2015. Her animal acting talents have granted her acting jobs with several stage productions, modeling agencies and various film festivals. Her additional wrangler accomplishments include a Quicken Loans Commercial, Abandoned Buddy and the Legally Blonde Production.

So many mentors
Christine thanks so many veterinarians, ethologists, and scientific based trainers for her skills and education but most especially Dr. Ian Dunbar and Dr. Patricia McConnell have lead her path to success. Ian visited Wag in 2014 for three days offering one of the last seminars of his career.

Continued Education
Christine’s passion and skills not only come from personal teaching experiences, but also from constantly researching and educating herself on both dog behavior and canine communication with professional behaviorists around the world. She takes pride in staying current with most scientific methods of learning available. With years of hands on teaching, experience and regular attendance to seminars with professionals all over the country, Christine has developed the talents necessary to treat thousands of dogs and their families per year.

Christine is happily married to her husband Bob and is the proud mother of her daughter Jessica, “Hollywood” her Maltese, “Charley” the Golden Retriever, and ”Bravado” her Cockatiel bird.
